Page speed improvements

We have been working hard this week on optimizing the server-side code to take fuller advantage of the capacity of the performance server. As a result DMP Shops are now faster than before.

Domain shops also include a pre-loader on each page. Depending on the number of categories you have created for your marketplace, the categories page can take a few seconds extra to load. The pre-loader shows the visitor that the page is loading.

How to Maximize the Page Speed of Your Domain Shop

There are few things you can do to improve the page speed on your DMP Shop:

  1. Optimize the headers and logos you upload. When saving your images before uploading, ensure you keep the file size as low as possible without losing too much quality. We recommend that you keep header images to around 200-300 Kb, domain logos about half of that.
  2.  Keep categories to the minimum. The more categories you have the more your DMP Shop must access the database.

Conclusion

This is part of our commitment to making DMP Shop perform at the optimum levels. Not only is this important for user experience but also Google uses page speed as part of its ranking signals.
