Domain Market Pro (DMP) is GDPR compliant. We’ve added a new ‘privacy tool’ to help you, if you are a client of DMP, ensure your site is compliant as well come May 25 when the GDPR law will go into effect. If you have a privacy policy, and you need one, then DMP will display a pop-up on your domain marketplace asking the visitor to consent to the use of cookies and the privacy policy. This is one of the cornerstones of GDPR compliance. There are a number of free privacy policy generators online, as a simple online search will reveal, that can help you with this. These tools are updated or being updated for GDPR. You can then set up a Privacy Policy page on the DMP-powered domain marketplace and DMP software will take care of the rest.
Additionally, DMP’s server is located in Montreal Canada. Why is this important? It means all data is stored in Canada. We are bound by Canadian privacy laws which the European Union recognizes as adequate for compliance of GDPR. This is certainly an advantage, but it does not negate the necessity for a GDPR-compatible privacy policy that any site will require. Once you have such a policy on your site, then DMP’s protections will kick in.
